Laura Coaty
Founder & Lead Researcher
Laura has been conducting research with learners and educators for more than three decades. As the ed-tech industry’s first market research director, Laura has personally conducted 1,200 quantitative research studies involving over a million learners and educators worldwide.
Since founding Intertwine Research, Laura routinely leads nationwide mass market studies polling thousands of K12 and Higher Education educators for many of the world’s largest learning technology companies. As a nationally known facilitator and moderator, Laura has also led over 600 qualitative studies and is skilled at both in-person and virtual focus groups with learners and educators.
Laura holds a Masters in Learning Technology from Pepperdine University. Her unique understanding of learning science, curriculum, and new technologies allow Intertwine to give clients deep, actionable insights that only the nation’s leading experts in education-related research can provide.
Amy Blickenstaff
Senior Researcher and Statistical Analyst
Amy’s unique background in statistics, social psychology, and instruction make her the go-to resource for Intertwine’s most demanding data-driven projects. Amy’s PhD in psychology and work as a psychology instructor give her unique insights into educators’ perspectives as well as student behaviors. Amy is remarkably skilled at searching large data sets for strategic insights. She uses a range of statistical methods (i.e., multivariate analysis and regressions) to identify behavioral clusters, patterns and predictors.
Angela Day
Research Analyst
Angela manages all aspects of Intertwine’s research from project development through implementation and analysis. Her user experience background allows her to conduct hands-on research with learners of all ages and educators from all backgrounds (K12, Higher Ed, Adult Ed).
